About Sweden

Sweden stretches down the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe, from Arctic tundra and the reindeer lands of the Sami to fertile southern plains. Stockholm, the capital, spreads gracefully across islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. • ·The royal warship Vasa sank minutes into its 1628 maiden voyage and now stands almost intact in its own Stockholm museum.
