About Malawi

Malawi is a slender, landlocked country in southeastern Africa, wrapped along the western shore of Lake Malawi, the vast freshwater lake that defines its geography. Nicknamed the 'Warm Heart of Africa' for the friendliness of its people, it stretches through the Great Rift Valley from highland tea estates to lakeside fishing villages. Its capital, Lilongwe, sits on the central plateau, while the lake teems with brilliantly colored cichlid fish.
